Hello All Apigee Trial-BaaS Developers!
GlobalSpotz is announcing as of today that we are going to pick up the ball and run with it!
Apigee's (Google's) decision to terminate mBaaS for developers is in our opinion a bad move. It flys in the face of moving technology forward to provide a "serverless" back-end-as-a-service solution.
While that might work for corporations and "the Enterprise", it certainly doesn't work for mobile and web app developers who need a solution in creating true "client-side" mobile applications.
So, today, GlobalSpotz is launching a mission to poll and survey the developer communities across the Internet to evaluate the interest there may be for providing a Usergrid/Cassandra solution to the developer community.
GlobalSpotz has successfully migrated all of it's applications (500+ and growing) and data to a new Usergrid/Cassandra stack hosted on Amazon AWS and will be creating 2 more Usergrid/Cassandra stacks in the near future. One will be for developers to use, much like they have been doing here on Apigee for the last 4-5 years. The other will be to provide mBaaS solutions for small to medium sized businesses.
And, yes, unlike Apigee's refusal to charge a reasonable fee for ONLY using their Usergrid/Cassandra stack, GlobalSpotz will be charging a small nominal fee as a subscription to help absorb the cost of implementing the developer solution on Amazon AWS. The fee is TBD at this point, relative to developer community interest and commitment, but will be reasonable even for the beginner developer.
So, if you have any interest in a low cost mBaaS solution based on Usergrid/Cassandra, please send an email to:
Thank you!
