Migration from Apigee Edge Cloud to Apigee X

Hi All,

Have a few questions on Apigee migration:

-Is it mandatory to migrate from Apigee edge cloud to Apigee X -Like, is Apigee Edge is going to depreciate in 2 years?
-what are the advantages of Apigee X over Apigee edge cloud? And disadvantages if any

-Normal challenges we might face? -cache,kvm, product management etc

-Recently we had some migration from Apigee Onprem to Apigee Hybrid, had some issues with cache, kvm etc

can some one help on this

There's no need to migrate to Apigee X.

There's a list of Edge and X differences here

Some other differences are you have more flexibility over networking into, and out of Apigee eg connectivity between Apigee and other Google Cloud services without going over public internet, you could use a VPN or interconnect between Google Cloud and your Data Center, and you get to leverage Google Cloud HTTP Load Balancers and its capabilities such as Cloud Armor, although this comes with some additional cost.

Note, currently there's a limit of 50 deployed API Proxies in an environment. So if you have more, you would need to create more environments, and similarly this means you may need to duplicate KVMs, caches across environments.
