Add new resolution to Ubuntu 20.04 Virtual Machine on Google Cloud

Currently there are 2 options, 1600*1200, 3840*2560. I want the resolution of 1920*1080 to completely fit my screen.

Hi @chanun3571,

Welcome to the Google Cloud Community!

Please try the steps below[1]:

  1. Install guest additions on the VM: sudo apt-get install virtualbox-guest-dkms
  2. Restart the VM: sudo shutdown -r now
  3. After logging into the VM, resize the VirtualBox window to the desired size. (The VM screen inside the window does not resize automatically yet.)
  4. On the VM, go to Preferences -> Monitor Settings -> select Auto -> Apply -> OK

Let me know if you need more help. Thank you.
